Divers Log 04

***The dash feature has an issue where pressing the button will make you dash, just not at the intended force. I will fix and re-upload as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Man, I haven't written one of these in awhile, so here goes. From early on, this has always been a lovechild of mine, I've found myself coming back to this project on and off for years. I started developing it before TIE, but the game itself never got past some movement code or some shooting mechanics. Nowadays I'm working on it as often as I can, life has been rough and the stability of my living situation has made it difficult to develop any sort of game. For awhile I did not even have a computer or electricity, and even now things are a bit uncertain.

Alas I have returned to it with the intention of finishing it as I had originally intended it. So here goes, a change-log AND a playable build for both Windows and Mac. Keep in mind however, it is not finished. I am uploading and will be uploading builds for feedback and testing purposes. There is an option to pay however, and any and all funding procured would help me and the development of the game greatly. Here is a change-log which has been updated from the last time I posted.

  • The dash mechanic has been totally redone and feels much better.
  • Controller support is no longer stable and has since been removed (sorry guys).
  • The AI of the creatures is less buggy and they are not as prone as they were to getting 'stuck'.
  • Lots of additions in the sound department as far as reactions in the environment go.
  • Modified player physics and movement to be more reactive.
  • 'Angler fish' enemy missing from current build due too some technical hiccups with how he works.

Some things to take note of, there is no fourth diver, so the game cannot be completed, I plan to add a boss before I add the fourth diver. Secondly, I cannot stress this enough, this is a work in progress! And lastly, for those who follow my Twitter, I have mentioned quality of life improvements on there that will be fully fleshed and added to the next build I update.

You can follow the games progress here or on my Twitter account, @tonynowak44. I post more to my Twitter and will use the itch platform for major updates or releases when a blog post is required. It takes a lot for me to upload this so your feedback/help is invaluable too me and I look forward to hearing it!!!
